Have you ever stopped and asked yourself:
What makes you happy? 😌🤍
Watching your children grow.
Falling in love.
Getting married and building a family.
Doing meaningful work.
Traveling around the world.
Drinking coffee slowly at home.
Having a stable job and knowing what your next paycheck will be.
Starting your own business and building something from scratch.
Spending time with someone you love.
Having plenty of time alone.
Living in your home country.
Living somewhere completely new.
Giving something back to your family.
Having more time for yourself.
When you look at all these different kinds of happiness, one thing becomes pretty obvious.
What makes you happy may be completely different from what makes someone else happy💖
And that is exactly why I don’t think we can look at someone else’s life and quickly decide:
“They’re successful.”
“They failed.”
“They’re winning.”
“They’re falling behind.”
Life is much more complicated than that.
Because we are not all trying to get the same things.

What Makes You Happy Is Different for Everyone
So, what is happiness?
There probably isn’t one answer that works for everyone.
Some people feel happiest when they are working hard, growing their career, and taking on bigger challenges.
Others feel happiest when they have more free time, less pressure, and more space for themselves or their family.
Some people love the energy of a big city.
Others dream about a quiet life surrounded by nature.
Some people want marriage.
Some people don’t.
Some people want a stable job.
Some people would rather take a risk and build their own business.
Some people dream of living abroad.
Others feel happiest close to home.
None of these choices automatically makes someone more successful, more fulfilled, or happier.
They are simply different lives.
Because the things that make you happy depend on what you value.
What do you want more of?
What kind of days do you enjoy?
What gives you energy?
What makes you feel peaceful?
Your definition of happiness lives inside those answers.
We’re All Running on Different Operating Systems
Sometimes I think people are basically running on completely different operating systems 💖
The exact same situation can make one person think:
“This is amazing!”
while another person thinks:
“No thank you. Absolutely not.” 🤣
And honestly?
Both can be right.
Someone who loves traveling might look at a person who spends most weekends at home and think their life looks boring.
Meanwhile, the person at home might look at someone constantly packing bags, changing hotels, and catching flights and think:
“That looks exhausting.” 😂
Someone might feel safe and happy working for the same company for years.
Another person might feel most alive when they are creating something on their own.
Neither life is better.
They simply want different things.
So when you think about what makes you happy, one of the most important questions may be:
How does this life actually feel to me?
Not:
“What will other people think?”
Not:
“What looks impressive?”
Not:
“What am I supposed to want?”
Just:
Do I actually like this life?
Stop Comparing Your Life to Someone Else’s Highlight Reel
Of course, saying “stop comparing your life to others” is much easier than actually doing it 😂
Open Instagram for five minutes and suddenly you see:
Beautiful homes.
Amazing vacations.
Happy families.
Career wins.
Perfect outfits.
Fancy restaurants.
Beautiful bodies.
Exciting announcements.
Everyone’s best moments just keep coming 🤣
But what you see is only one part of someone’s life.
You usually don’t see the night they couldn’t sleep.
The argument.
The disappointment.
The job that didn’t work out.
The day they wanted to stay in bed.
The moment they doubted themselves.
You see the highlight reel.
Then you compare it with the behind-the-scenes version of your own life.
Of course you’re going to lose that game 🤣🤣🤣💖
Comparing yourself to other people is one of the easiest ways to feel like your life isn’t enough.
Because you can collect all the beautiful things you see outside yourself and compare them with everything you think is missing from your own life.
But lives were never designed to be compared like identical products.
We all have different values.
Different histories.
Different goals.
Different responsibilities.
Different dreams.
Different things that make us feel alive.
When You Don’t Know What Makes You Happy
Sometimes, you genuinely don’t know what makes you happy.
And that’s okay too.
What made you happy at 20 may not be what makes you happy at 30, 40, or 60.
What mattered to you five years ago may not matter much today.
We change.
Our priorities change.
Our definition of happiness changes.
Instead of asking:
“What do I need to achieve before I can finally be happy?”
try asking smaller questions.
What did I enjoy today?
When did I feel most relaxed?
Who makes me feel comfortable?
What kind of work gives me energy?
What makes me forget about time?
And on the other side:
What keeps draining me?
What am I doing only because I think I should?
What am I chasing because everyone else seems to want it?
Your answers don’t have to sound impressive.
Sometimes the things that make you happy are surprisingly simple.
A peaceful morning.
A long walk.
A good meal.
A conversation with someone you love.
Making something.
Learning something new.
Traveling.
Staying home.
Doing absolutely nothing for an afternoon 😂💖
Pay attention to those moments.
They tell you more about yourself than any list of what a “successful life” is supposed to look like.
Do What Makes You Happy — But Define Happiness for Yourself
“Do what makes you happy” sounds simple.
Maybe even a little cliché 😂
But I think the important part is this:
You have to know what your happiness actually is.
Not the version your family chose.
Not the version social media sells.
Not the version your friends are living.
Not the version society quietly hands you and says:
“This is what a successful adult is supposed to want.”
Marriage = 100 points.
Corporate job = 70 points.
Business owner = 90 points.
Living abroad = WINNER.
Single = FAILURE.
Who made this scoreboard? 👹
Who? 👹🤣💖
Seriously.
Who decided all of that?
Most of the time, these are just social expectations that became so normal that we stopped questioning them.
But someone else’s dream life may feel completely wrong for you.
And a life that looks ordinary from the outside may feel incredibly rich to the person living it.
That matters.
Learn to Be Happy With Yourself and Your Own Life
Being happy with yourself doesn’t mean you stop growing.
It doesn’t mean you never want more.
It doesn’t mean you give up on goals.
You can love your life and still want to change it.
You can appreciate where you are and still dream bigger.
You can enjoy today and still be excited about tomorrow.
The difference is that you are no longer building your life just to prove something.
You are building it because you actually want to live it.
See the people you want to see.
Go to the places you want to go.
Eat food you love.
Rest when you are tired.
Try something new when you feel curious.
Work hard when something excites you.
Slow down when your body and mind need space.
Change direction when your old dream no longer feels like yours.
Your life is allowed to change.
Your definition of happiness is allowed to change too.
What Makes You Happy Matters More Than What Looks Good
Maybe one of the most peaceful things we can do is stop trying to live a life that looks good from the outside.
And start creating one that feels good from the inside.
Because in the end, what makes you happy is deeply personal.
Someone else can’t fully decide it for you.
They can’t measure it for you.
They can’t rank your life.
And they definitely can’t tell you whether your happiness counts 💖
You don’t have to want what everyone else wants.
You don’t have to follow the same timeline.
You don’t have to live someone else’s definition of success.
Everyone’s happiness can look different.
And maybe that is exactly how it is supposed to be.
Your life is yours.
So if possible,
make it a life you actually enjoy living.
A Little Message from Vina
Finally, here is a little message from me to you.
Your happiness doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
What makes your heart feel alive is allowed to be different 🤍
You do not have to follow someone else’s timeline.
You do not have to want the same things.
And you do not have to prove that your life is successful enough.
Listen to yourself.
Notice the little things that make you smile.
Trust the life that feels right to you.
(♡˙︶˙♡)
What makes you happy is yours to discover.
And if your answer looks completely different from everyone else’s?
That might be exactly the point 💖
Have a beautiful day ✧
Thank you & LOVE ALL 💝
VENUSY.
